The products range from soap and dishwashing products to different detergents for private households as well as industry and institutions. VLF is a member of AISE*. Like VLF cooperates with Norwegian authorities, AISE cooperates with the EU authorities in questions regarding product substances, labelling and health and/or environmental aspects of the products in general. Norwegian legislation follows the EU legislation in this area. 
 

VLF provides various member services:

• ongoing surveillance regarding Norwegian regulations relating to cleaning products
• contact with Norwegian authorities (chemical, environmental) and NGO’s
• represents the industry to promote and argue in favour of similar regulations in Norway vs. EU
• member service: support the members of VLF in any question relating to regulations, media focus, common and general questions of interest to all the members of VLF, newsletters and information given on VLF’s web site.

The costs of the association are split between the members based on yearly sales.  There is a minimum membership fee of NOK 10 000,- yearly.
